WARP TRIO - Piano Trio (+percussion) cover of the album "Humanz" by the Gorillaz.

About Humanz . HUMANZ is Gorillaz upcoming and long-awaited comeback to the music industry, after six years of non-activity. It is scheduled for an April 28 release. On January 19th (One day before Donald Trump’s inauguration), the first single off the album titled Hallelujah Money dropped, it was their only new music in six years, which they released following a cryptic social media campaign that took place towards the end of 2016. The Tracklist leaked on March 20th 2017. Jamie Hewlett explained in an interview with The Guardian the album title and cover: I see the z in Humanz as referring to robots, AI, programming, brainwashing, indoctrination.

Humanz is the fifth studio album by English virtual band Gorillaz. It was released on 28 April 2017 in the United Kingdom by Parlophone and in the United States by Warner Bros. Produced by the band, The Twilite Tone, and Remi Kabaka J. it was Gorillaz' first studio album in seven years, after The Fall (2010). It features collaborations with Vince Staples, Popcaan, . Grace Jones, Anthony Hamilton, De La Soul, Danny Brown, Kelela, Mavis Staples, Pusha T, and Benjamin Clementine.

He is, after all, currently promoting a Gorillaz album whose concept was based around conjuring up the dystopia that might ensue if Donald Trump became US president. Humanz demonstrates the pros and cons of Albarn’s musical restlessness. As usual, he displays exquisite taste in collaborators – everyone from fast-rising rapper DRAM to dancehall singer Popcaan to old-school Chicago house legend Jamie Principle – and an impressive ability to get the best out of them by throwing them into unlikely circumstances.

Humanz: Deluxe Digital Album. Availability: Out of stock. Price as configured: £1. 9. MP3 download of Gorillaz’ new album, featuring 6 bonus tracks. 1. Intro: I Switched My Robot Off. 2. Ascension (feat.

Gorillaz is the eponymous debut studio album by virtual band Gorillaz. It was released on 26 March 2001 in the United Kingdom by Parlophone and in the United States by Virgin Records. My copy is flawless! Although not my favourite Gorillaz album, definitely one of the best sounding pressing I have of any album! Hugely recommend if you like it!
Pumpit
Its a collection of random mediocre songs taken from a collection of random mediocre unreleased albums jammed together under the facsimile of Gorillaz. This couldn't be any less of a Gorillaz album if they tried

Just got this today. Love the crisp, beautiful printing of Jamie Hewlett's art all throughout the gatefold cover and the printed inner sleeves. As for the wax itself, first thing I noticed as soon as "Ascension" came blasting out the speakers is the vinyl is audibly mastered at an ever so slightly higher pitch than the CD, probably a 0.5-1% pitch difference. It's subtle enough not to be bothersome for most people, but it is definitely noticeable to my pitch-sensitive ear.The sound, as you would expect from Gorillaz vinyl, is HOT and bass-heavy, and splitting the 49-minute album onto two discs is definitely beneficial in that respect - I always enjoy seeing wide and deep grooves on my vinyl. The sound quality is very good and dancefloor-ready. Mind you, the mastering is pretty loud and compressed like the CD (although it does sound better than the CD likely because of the acoustic properties of the vinyl mastering), so some of the more densely-arranged sections don't sound as impactful as they ought to be, and overall the sound is definitely not as good as Gorillaz S/T on vinyl. Nice job by John Davies though - of course it's best when you turn it up LOUD! I'm pretty sure putting it on my Akai will bring out more detail especially in the high frequencies, and I will report on that later. The Optimal-pressed vinyl is pristine and quiet - no traces of a noise floor in the quietest musical segments on the album, and the loud mastering only helps the cause. There is some low-frequency noise on the run-ins for all four sides, and the second disc has visible patches of non-fill, but none of these defects are bothersome and they aren't detrimental to the listening experience. It IS a very high-quality pressing - thank GOD neither of the records had any scratches straight out of the shrinkwrap, unlike two other Optimal pressings with printed inner sleeves I got recently that do.EDIT: Another interesting thing to note - unlike typical EU vinyl (even the typical Optimal pressing!) neither of the 2 LPs here had any noticeable static charge from the first time I took them out of the printed inner sleeves. I think Optimal might be upping their act a bit...

RyansGoldenRecords leonthepro Pitch difference might be because of your turntable, are you sure its not your deck? I like your reviewing work on this site though, good job. Thank you Leon for your feedback, and I have to admit, I've been enjoying your fair and detailed reviews as well - they are very interesting! With respect to the pitch - it's possible that it was a combination of two things. I had the pitch control on the old Dual 701 adjusted *the least bit* fast for maybe the first two sides - just going by the strobe bars it wouldn't have been too much of a difference, but I think my eyes and ears were playing tricks on me. Later in the day, as I listened to other music, I realized it was one of those times when my hearing was slightly higher-pitched than normal. So in hindsight, even before you commented, I realized I was probably wrong to admit the 'pitch difference' in this case. I'll have to put it on the Akai AP-A201 (direct drive, no pitch control, and stays perfectly on-speed despite total lack of a quartz lock feature) to make sure for certain that I was going crazy at the time. Well thank you as well. I find myself to be mistaken with some of my older reviews sometimes though, especially as my experience and knowledge increases, as well as my setup gets upgraded. Sometimes I go back and try to update those with my newfound insight if I feel it necessary so I do suggest to not trust my word completely, Im faluable like everyone. Please do write to me if you find anything I say disagreeable. But thats good to know. I dont have this record myself so I was mostly curious. Thanks again for your input! ;^)

sound like a mp3... with more bass, if you wanna buy this pick up a good inner sleeve ..
Golden freddi
Why would you suggest an inner if you dont like the sound though?
Onoxyleili
The music itself is a bit disappointing but hopefully in time I'd appreciate this LP. Pressing & packaging are top notch!
OTANO
While I kind of thought some of the songs were "un-Gorillaz" on first listen, this album definitely grown on me with repeated plays. "Ascension", "Saturnz Barz", "Charger" and "Busted and Blue" are now some of my favourite Gorillaz songs. Give it some time - I definitely think you'll appreciate it after a while, as you say.

all this lost wax that could have been used for a worlwide repress of Demon Days...
Zorve
pilotfish693 all this lost wax that could have been used for a worlwide repress of Demon Days... Maybe it's a matter of opinion, because I *like* this album, but if I were you, I would say that about the Humanz super deluxe box set. One song a side.... and 30 sides of 12" vinyl? Jeez!!! Imagine having to get out of your seat and flip over and swap records every 2 to 5 minutes...
Bundis
Kumanosuke Demon Days has officially been repressed already earlier this year Yes, but that's a Vinyl Me Please-exclusive 'limited' edition. He's talking about the fact that there isn't an official vinyl reissue of Demon Days being mass-produced and distributed to the mainstream, i.e. a NON-exclusive pressing that doesn't fetch flipper prices.

Mora
Disappointed by the record, probably the long hype period beforehand raised the bar too much. "We got the power" on D4 sounds very noisy.

Pretty uninspired album, and disappointed they couldn't put the extra tracks on here. In any case, pressing sounds great.
Warianys
No problems with my copy, sounds great. It took a few listens to really get into it...
Delaath
Got mine through the gorillaz main website. Beautiful record, Excellent recording
Whitescar
Great LPs with classic Gorillaz and pleasant new experiences. Shame it doesn't include the 6 bonus tracks though...

joearrow, basically this version: https://www.discogs.com/Gorillaz-Humanz/release/10194303 . . . . . .
Pooker
Yeah. I would have liked a booklet with all the extra art the Cd version has too. Daft Punks random access memories comes with a nice book. Could have included the bonus tracks in the digital downloads eh!
Phalaken
Arghhh!... just picked it up but I am stuck at work!!! cough cough ahhh I don't feel so well all of a sudden...
Garr
This is one hell of a record. Has some classic sounding Gorillaz with tracks like "andromeda", but overall this is completely different to previous albums (which is what you would expect). Heavy electronic beats and dark themes combine to make an unsettling first listen. For the casual fan I would recommend checking out Damon Albarn's Everyday Robots- which is also an excellent release that is a little more accessible."Hallelujah Money", "Charger", "Let me out" and "Saturn Barz" are standouts tracks. And who can pass up the closing track "We got the power", which I wish was longer.
Aloo
Sounds great on my turntable. The songs are amazing and the art given in the sleeves look fantastic! I recommend getting this.
