Artist: Tony Sherman Album: Tony Sherman Year: 1973.

The Sherman Brothers were an American songwriting duo that specialized in musical films, made up of Robert B. Sherman (December 19, 1925 – March 6, 2012) and Richard M. Sherman (born June 12, 1928). The Sherman Brothers wrote more motion-picture musical song scores than any other songwriting team in film history

As staff writers for Walt Disney, brothers Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman composed many of Disney's best-known songs. The Sherman Brothers is a tribute to their songbook, compiling over two dozen original recordings from Disney films and events, mostly from the 1960s. Some of the songs, such as "Chim Chim Cher-ee" and "Fortuosity," became pop hits in the hands of non-Disney artists, while others were hits in the versions that appear here (Annette Funicello's "Tall Paul"; Hayley Mills' "Let's Get Together.

It's remarkable how diverse the Sherman Brothers' body of work is, and this collection is a fitting testament to that-everything from "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers" to Kenny Loggins' "Your Heart Will Lead You Home. There are some added surprises like a rehearsal recording of Annette Funicello and a recording of Walt Disney giving his stamp of approval to the Sherman Brothers performing "It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow

The Sherman Brothers had to scramble to write it for Glynis Johns, who thought she was going to be offered the role of Mary Poppins. When Walt told her he wanted her to play Mrs. Banks instead, he promised her a wonderful musical number that had been written especially for her. The Sherman Brothers wrote Sister Suffragette on their lunch hour. com/watch?v S3JP3TW07bo. Sister Suffragette - Mary Poppins (1964) w/ lyrics.
